Terrestrial Imaging has partnered with Quantum Systems to offer their VTOL fixed wing platform, the Trinity F90+, and its wide selection of high precision, interchangeable payloads.
We are very excited by this opportunity because we feel that Quantum Systems is a clear leader in the fixed wing drone space and many of our customers can benefit from their technology. The Trinity F90+ in combination with Quantum’s QBase 3D mission planning software and payloads offers a simple workflow that delivers accurate and meaningful data every time. Among the selection of payloads are the Sony RX1R II 42.4MP RGB camera, MicaSense’s multispectral sensors, and FLIR’s thermal imaging sensors.
Who is The Trinity F90+ Made For?
The Trinity is perfect for anyone who needs to collect aerial data of a large area in a short amount of time. Because of its long flight endurance (90 minutes!) and its speed, the Trinity is a much more efficient tool when compared to a multirotor. It can cover more ground in a single flight which means less battery changes, less time in the field, and less room for error. The Sony high resolution RGB cameras are perfect for anyone looking to create precise maps and models, while the multispectral payloads are perfect for monitoring vegetation.
What is a VTOL?
VTOL stands for vertical take-off and landing. In flight, the motors can rotate between positions allowing the aircraft to take off and land in the same way that a multirotor drone can. This means that the pilot has more flexibility when deciding where to launch their drone. With other fixed wing aircraft, there is a tradeoff – more efficient flights, but more complicated flight planning due to the complexity of taking off and landing. With the Trinity F90+ you get the best of both worlds – ease of use and efficiency.
