With so many advantages over a tablet or smart phone, Terrestrial Imaging highly recommends the CrystalSky display for commercial drone operators. With their advanced video decoding, the CrystalSky display is optimized for use with DJI drones to provide the operator with a smoother live video feed with minimal latency. The display is more than four times as bright as the typical mobile device, which eliminates the need for a monitor hood, and allows the pilot to see a sharper and clearer image, even under direct sunlight.
Embedded in the CrystalSky display are the DJI GO, DJI GO 4, and DJI Pilot apps, which give the pilot access to all features such as aircraft parameter adjustments, camera control, footage management, and playback. The monitor removes the need for android apps and services and is resistant to viruses. Using offline maps, maps can be stored even without connection to Wi-Fi.
On the side of the monitor are a variety of ports, which make the CrystalSky more versatile than a smart phone or tablet. Most importantly, the CrystalSky features an HDMI output that allows the pilot to share the monitor's live feed with the rest of their team. A USB A port allows the pilot to connect to 4G dongles and USB storage. Two micro SD card slots allow the pilot to extend the monitor's storage, backup footage, and playback video and pictures reordered during flight.
Powered by WB37 intelligent batteries, the 7.85 inch CrystalSky has a battery life of 4-5 hours. Because the batteries are removable, the pilot can immediately swap batteries when power is low, so that there is never any downtime due to charging.
